How Bojan Krkic could reborn from being Lionel Messi successor at the MLS

He was once set to be the replacement for the Argentinian legend and now found a new life at Montreal Impact.

Bojan Krkic had a very strange professional career. He was formed at La Masía from FC Barcelona and was supposed to be the successor of Lionel Messi. Those who saw him playing since a youth assured that his conditions were outstanding but, when he arrived the first team, he was not the star he was supposed to be.

After four years in the first team, Barcelona decided to sell him to AS Roma for $12 million and the attacker started a period of his career in which he passed through a lot of clubs, such as AC Milan, Ajax, Stoke City, Maguncia, Deportivo Alavés, Stoke City and even Barcelona once again.


But on August 2019 he left Stoke City as a free agent and joined MLS side Montreal Impact. In his second season he is now fully adapt at the club, where he reunited himself with Thierry Henry, nowadays a head coach and when meeting Bojan a Barcelona player as well.

Bojan could take the suit of being Messi’s successor and has reborn at Montreal. At the club, he played 30 matches, scored seven goals and gave four assists. At the age of 30, the Spanish forward will now try to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time in his career, when facing New England Revolution on the Eastern Conference play-in round.
