As Xavi Hernandez will fulfill his FC Barcelona contract and stay with the Catalan club till next year, Jose Mourinho will have to look elsewhere to manage next season. Rumors suggest that Mourinho's next destination will likely be a return to the Premier League. Chelsea fans are unsure about Mauricio Pochettino, and the club could consider bringing back Mourinho this summer if the Blues decide to sack Pochettino. Some argue that it could help Chelsea get back to winning ways, but others believe that Mourinho's time as a top-level manager is over. The Portuguese coached a combined total of 321 games for Chelsea in two spells.

Another option that could be for Mourinho is Liverpool FC. The Reds will lose Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season, and the club is looking for many candidates to replace the German manager. The rumors of Mourinho to Liverpool increased when he appeared in Liverpool's Premier League match against Fulham last weekend. Liverpool defeated Fulham 3-1 at Craven Cottage with goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ryan Gravenberch, and Diogo Jota.

Another Premier League club that may consider Jose Mourinho is Manchester United. Mourinho coached Man United from 2016 to 2018, where he coached 144 games in total, averaging 1.97 points per game. Mourinho recently spoke to The Telegraph about Manchester United and said that Erik Ten Hag has more support than he had. Mourinho said, "What Ten Hag has in his time at Manchester United, I didn’t have. I didn’t have that level of support. I didn’t have that level of trust. So I left sad because I felt I was in the beginning of the process. In some moments, I felt if they trusted me and believed in my experience things could be different." Ten Hag is repeatedly set to leave Man United at the end of the season due to inconsistent results this season.
