Manchester United's manager, Rubén Amorim, did not hold back after his team suffered a defeat at Old Trafford against Brighton. Speaking candidly in the post-match press conference, the Portuguese coach labeled his squad as "the worst team in the history of Manchester United," acknowledging the poor run of form since his appointment in November.

"We are undoubtedly the worst team in Manchester United's history right now," Amorim stated. "We must face this reality and work to change it. There’s your headline," he added, addressing the press directly. Under his tenure, United has won only three of their eleven Premier League matches, a statistic that has deepened the frustration among fans and critics alike.

Amorim’s appointment as Erik ten Hag’s successor came with high expectations, but the results have been far from promising. The team's performance has not improved, leaving the coach to face mounting pressure.

"I understand what this means for Manchester United supporters," Amorim admitted. "For me, it’s equally tough. A new manager comes in and loses more than the previous one—it’s a harsh reality, but I’m fully aware of it."

Despite the challenges, the manager expressed hope for the future. "We can succeed, but first, we have to navigate through this difficult phase. Everyone is underperforming, and that’s something we must own up to."

Amorim also addressed the absence of Marcus Rashford, who has been out of the squad for several matches amid speculation about his future at the club. "He’s not here, and I won’t count on a player I believe doesn’t improve the team," the coach firmly stated, hinting at potential moves during the January transfer window.

The manager reiterated his philosophy, refusing to compromise despite the team’s ongoing struggles. "I won’t change my way of seeing football, but we cannot accept losing so many matches."
