While driving in Saudi Arabia, Cristiano Ronaldo was approached by a fan and was asked to sign a shirt, but it was not an Al Nassr jersey. In fact, it was an Al Ahli jersey, a club that is one of the founding members of the Saudi Pro League. The other three clubs are Al Hilal, Al Ittihad, and Al Nassr. The two are some of the best clubs in the league, and the two compete in the highest spots of the table. Al Nassr is second in the league with 68 points, while Al Ahli is third with 52 points. There was no outrage about this since the rivalry between the clubs isn't as heated as the one with Al Hilal, which would certainly cause controversy.

Al Ahli seems like a side that is not as strong as Al Nassr, as Ronaldo's autograph signing did not cause significant reactions online. Some Ronaldo fans praised the Portuguese star for being kind to the fan despite being an Al Ahli fan.

Al Ahli has a couple of great players in the squad, like Edouard Mendy, Franck Kessie, Gabriel Veiga, Roberto Firmino, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Riyad Mahrez. Their top goal scorer this season has been Firas Al Buraikan with 14 goals, while their top assister is Mahrez with 11 assists. The team is only two points ahead of 4th place Al Ittihad but has a game in hand against Al Riyadh. Al Ahli is trying to retain their third-place spot to qualify to the AFC Champions League next season.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr defeated Al Ahli two times this season. In Septemeber, Al Nassr defeated Al Ahli 4-3 at the Al Awal Park, where Ronaldo scored a brace. Last month, at the King Abdullah Sports City, Al Nassr defeated Al Ahli 1-0 thanks to a Ronaldo penalty.
