They both are taking advantage of their success in football and channeling the fortune from it to other businesses. Forbes reported that Cristiano Ronaldo's salary in football is small compared to Lionel Messi but he sure makes up for it in advertising.

Lionel Messi is known to keep a low profile but he's making exploits in the field of business. Over the past calendar year, Messi has earned a whopping $ 126 million overall with $92 million coming from his salary and $32 million from endorsement deals. His other businesses include clothing lines and super scale partnership. Messi has owned the MiM hotel chain, which he ventured into in 2017. 

He owns TMS (The Messi Store) which makes use of the brand value of Lionel Messi, the store produces ranges of apparel from T-shirts to hoodies with the Messi Logo. The brand Messi partners with Top brands to boost their acceptability and sales, one of such is Budweiser and Adidas. Budweiser celebrated his 644th goal by giving beers to the keepers that the goal was scored against. He signed a deal that saw him pocket £12m annually with Adidas in 2017. He wanted to conquer the world of business just like he did with football. 

Cristiano Ronaldo on the other hand has proven to be a genius in the business world. He's got a lot of business that's doing exploit and his brand value is insane. He has three hotels, one is the famous CR7 hotel. He owns a Perfume company and a Jean company ( CR7 Denim). A restaurant (Zela Restaurant) in Ibiza and London. A fitness center, CR7 Crunch Fitness. Hair Clinic, Insparya and Private Jet rental business. He rakes in millions of dollars from his Instagram and he's the most followed individual on social media.
