David Beckham tattoos: the photos and their meanings

The soccer star David Beckham's no stranger to tattoo parlors, and by now the superstar has as many tats on his body as years on the clock. Well, the star is addicted to tattoos. Most of his tattoos are a tribute to his beloved wife and children. From his daughter, Harper’s ‘drawing’ tattoo inked on his hand to the sweet ’99’ tattoo carved on his pinky finger, the handsome star is always trying to find ways to commemorate his adorable family. Beckham already has dozens of tats inked all over his body and it seems like he’s just getting started. Let’s have a look at David Beckham’s first ten tattoo and their special meanings.

1. ‘Harper’ Tattoo

David got the tattoo of his daughter’s name, ‘Harper’ who was born in 2011. Later in July 2015, David added the words ‘Pretty Lady’ for his daughter, Harper.

2. ‘Pretty Lady’ Tattoo

In July 2015, David added the tattoo ‘Pretty Lady’ just above his ‘Harper’ tattoo in a scrolling black script font, with a tiny little heart on his left pec. This was a tribute to his daughter on her fourth birthday. David uploaded the following picture of this tattoo on his Instagram account.

3. ‘Rose’ Tattoo

Just above his ‘Pretty Lady’ tattoo, David got the tattoo of ‘rose’ inked on the left side of his neck. Rose tattoo is a symbol of new beginnings, rebirth, true love, emotions, feeling, and passion. It also defines a mature love and protection from an envious lover.

4. ‘Buster’ Tattoo

On August 31, 2015, David got the tattoo ‘Buster’ on the right side of his neck. This tattoo is a tribute to his eldest son ‘Brooklyn Joseph’ who was born on March 4, 1999. Buster is the nickname of his son, Brooklyn. On August 31, 2015, David uploaded the picture of this tattoo on his Instagram account, with the caption.

5. ‘Jesus and Cherubs’ Tattoo

David got the tattoo of ‘Jesus and Cherubs’ inked on his left pec. The tattoo is a portrait of Jesus which is designed to look as if the three baby angels are lifting Jesus from his tomb.  David got this tattoo inked in 2011. In an interview, he said.

6. ‘Lady in a Forest’ tattoo on his right pec

 7. ‘Angel’ Tattoo

David got the tattoo of an ‘angel’ with the words ‘In the face of adversity’ inked on his right shoulder and arm. This tattoo was an expression of his distress during the personal crisis alleging his affair with model and personal assistant Rebecca Loos in 2004.

8. ‘Cherubs’ Tattoo

David got the tattoo of two cherubs inked on his right bicep to represent his sons, Brooklyn and Romeo.

9. ‘Cherub and the Hebrew’ Tattoo

David got a tattoo on his left arm in 2008 featuring another cherub which is supposedly for his third son, Cruz, accompanied by a Hebrew saying, ‘My son, do not forget my teachings but keep my commands in your heart’.

10. ‘Biblical Text’ Tattoo

David has got a large block of writing inked on his right rib cage that appears to be either a quote or a passage from the Bible.
