MARCA reports that despite rumors of Luka Modric leaving Real Madrid this summer due to his contract expiring, the Croatian midfielder feels useful to Real Madrid, and he wants to renew. Modric understands that he doesn't need to play 60 matches to be important for Real Madrid. There are still no talks with Real Madrid, but nothing has been ruled out. Modric signed a one-year contract extension last year, but with limited minutes this season, the Spanish giants may consider letting him go for free.

Modric has been offered contracts from Saudi Arabia and the MLS. David Beckham's Inter Miami could be one of the MLS clubs that could approach Modric to sign for them if the Croatian leaves Real Madrid this summer.

Modric has made 38 appearances this season for Real Madrid, scoring two goals and six assists. In 8 Champions League appearances, Modric has played less than 400 minutes. In La Liga, Modric made 27 match appearances, but he only started in 14 matches. Modric reportedly earns $488,000 a week and a yearly salary of $23.3 million. Only David Alaba [$23.9M] and Toni Kroos [$25.9M] earn more than Modric's salary.

In his entire Real Madrid career so far, the Croatian midfielder made a total of 526 appearances. He scored 39 goals and provided 84 assists in Real Madrid so far. Modric has won five Champions League titles, four FIFA Club World Cups, three La Liga titles, four UEFA Super Cups, two Copa del Reys, and five Spanish Super Cups. He also won a Ballon d'Or and The Best FIFA Men's Player award.

Luka Modric's last goal for Real Madrid

Real Madrid defeated Sevilla 1-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu in February thanks to a Modric screamer in the 81st minute. Modric did not start the match, but he came on in the 75th minute to replace Nacho Fernandez. It took the Croatian six minutes to make an impact, and his strike from outside the box gave Madrid three important points in their chase for the La Liga title.
