Daniele De Rossi, the historic Roma midfielder who ended his career at Boca in 2020, celebrated the UEFA Euro 2021 title on Sunday in the heart of the Italy squad, serving as technical assistant to coach Roberto Mancini. And he played 16 games for Italy's U-21 national soccer team and was a regular member of the team that won the 2004 U-21.
De Rossi was filmed in the intimacy of the dressing room in a triumphal entrance with a challenge included: those present wet a long table on which he jumped on his belly; he walked all over it and ended up on the floor, although he got up without losing his fervor or the continuity of the celebration.
On a long table they spilled water so that De Rossi slid as if it were a slide and ended up on the floor taking a heavy blow. However, instead of worry, it was all laughter and hugs in the Champions' dressing room. Italy won their second Euro by beating England at Wembley, in a dramatic penalty shootout that elevated Gianluigi Donnarumma as the hero of the match.
De Rossi played 16 games for Italy's U-21 national soccer team and was a regular member of the team that won the 2004 U-21 European Championship, scoring his first goal against Serbia and Montenegro in the final. That same year, he won the bronze medal in soccer at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
