The Catalan coach publicly contratulated Joan Laporta as he won the presidential elections today

Today was a key day in the future of Fútbol Club Barcelona and, after the elections, a new president was elected: Joan Laporta. As this means that Lionel Messi will probably remain in the club, Josep Guardiola also took the chance to congratulate the new elected mandatary through Twitter.

"Moltes felicitats, Jan. Moltes felicitats, President! Visca el Barça!", wrote Guardiola which can be translated as "Congratulations, Jan. Congratulations, President! Long live Barcelona!". It is important to add that the Manchester City coach started his career in Barcelona when Laporta himself gave him the chance, back in 2008.

Lately, it has been rumoured about the possibility of Pep Guardiola returning to FC Barcelona, which so far remains as the only club with whom the Catalan coach was able to win the Champions League. However, 'Pep' has stated that he is enjoying his time in Manchester and is very happy.

That being said, Joan Laporta's win at the presidential election could not only mean an impact in Lionel Messi's future but also in Guardiola's thoughts, thanks to the close bonding that exists between them. And this could end up with Josep returning to the club where he was -professionally- born and raised.
