As Inter Miami defeated the New England Revolution 4-1 at the Gillette Stadium, Inter Miami and Lionel Messi received great news as Jordi Alba is close to returning from injury. The Spanish defender missed the last two Inter Miami games against Nashville and the New England Revolution. Inter Miami's manager, Gerardo Martino, spoke at a press conference, stating that Alba would miss the next two games due to an injury. Now, since two games have passed, Inter Miami could expect Alba to return to the pitch to play in the next MLS game against New York Red Bulls at the Chase Stadium. Since Alba did not participate in the match against the New England Revolution, he posted on social media that he was happy to see the team pick up three points.

Inter Miami struggled at first without Alba against the New England Revolution as they trailed 1-0 in the first 40 seconds. Messi and the rest of the team turned the game around as Messi scored a brace. Cremaschi scored the third for Inter Miami, and then Messi assisted Luis Suarez for the fourth goal of the night.

Alba has played nine matches in the 2024 MLS season so far, where he registered one goal and one assist. Alba's last game for Inter Miami was against Sporting Kansas City two weeks ago. The Spanish left-back scored against Montreal Impact at the Chase Stadium. Unfortunately for the team, they suffered a 3-2 loss at home.
