FC Barcelona and the hard-working construction workers are continuing the process of rebuilding the brand-new Spotify Camp Nou. The stadium will be renovated to add a bigger capacity than the previous Camp Nou. The rebuilding is continuing to be worked on as a new video by FC Barcelona was released on how it is getting done. The stadium is expected to be opened in November or December later this year.

Forbes reports that the complete Espai Barca operation, including Camp Nou's renovation, would cost around $1.6 billion, "with funding generated from 20 investors. FC Barcelona could regain that money over multiple seasons once the stadium has full capacity available for the fans. By mid-2026, the targeted capacity for the new Camp Nou will be 105,000. The club's current debt is still over $1.1 billion due to player fees, missed revenue from the pandemic, and other financial mismanagement from the past.

The previous Camp Nou had a capacity of 93,000, and the final game at the old Camp Nou was last year against Mallorca in FC Barcelona's 3-0 win. Ansu Fati scored a brace, and Gavi scored the third goal for Barcelona in an emotional game. Not only were FC Barcelona fans saying goodbye to the former Camp Nou, but they were also saying goodbye to club legends Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

Sergio Busquets played 713 matches for FC Barcelona, scoring 18 goals. He joined the first team of the FC Barcelona squad in 2008 and then left last summer. His last goal was against Mallorca, but in the 2021/2022 season at the Camp Nou. Jordi Alba joined FC Barcelona in 2012 from Valencia and has played 459 matches. Alba scored 27 goals for the Catalan club, and his last goal was against Osasuna last season in their 1-0 win.
