The qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup are in full swing in all continents to define the qualifiers for Qatar 2022. The draw for the World Cup will take place on April 1st. FIFA has already announced how the groups will be drawn.

Three playoffs will remain to be played. The Wales-Scotland/Ukraine in Europe and the two international playoffs between the fifth from Conmebol and the best third from Asia (Australia or United Arab Emirates) and the champion from Oceania (Solomon Islands or New Zealand) and the fourth from Concacaf. These playoffs will be held in June, definitively ordering the tournament.

What will the draw be like?

FIFA unveiled the rules of the draw, in which there will be four pots with eight teams each. In the first of them will be the seeded teams, with Qatar as host, and the first seven teams of the FIFA ranking that will be published on March 31.

Right now the ranking is led by Belgium (1,828.45 points), followed by Brazil (1,823.42), France (1,786.15), Argentina (1,766.99) England (1,755.52) and Italy (1,740.77), with Spain in seventh place (1,704.75) ahead of Portugal (1,066.25).

The countries from 8th to 15th position will be placed in pool 2; those classified in positions 16 to 23 in pool 3 and those placed from 24th to 28th will be in pool 4, together with the three slots that will remain to be defined when the draw is made.
