Georginio Wijnaldum arrived at Paris Saint-Germain last year as one of the biggest stars of the market thanks to his past at Liverpool, but the truth is that this season has not been a good one for him and he is already thinking about his departure from the Parc des Princes.
The Dutch footballer has several suitors who have knocked on the door, but PSV Eindhoven stands out above all of them since it is the club where he was formed as a professional.
According to MundoDeportivo, Ruud Van Nistelroy, PSV coach, has asked his board to make an attempt to see Wijnaldum back in the team. Something that the Dutch club could not afford because the player has a high price-tag and to cover his salary and a hypothetical transfer would be too costly. The other option is to ask for a loan until the end of the season, but it is not easy either.
Additionally, the Netherlands star can be involved in a swap deal with Juventus, claims Italian magazine Calcio Mercato Web. According to the rumor, PSG wants to transfer Wijnaldum to Juventus while bringing Adrien Rabiot back from Turin. Before moving to Serie A, Rabiot was a well-liked character in Paris, where he made 227 appearances and won five Ligue 1 championships. The 27 year-old is content to end his time in Italy as PSG try to lure him back as he enters the final year of his contract.
Wijnaldum was well-liked in Merseyside's red district. He signed a five-year contract and paid £23 million to join the team from Newcastle United in 2016. Always hungry for the big stage, he cemented his place in Liverpool legend by scoring twice for the Reds against Barcelona in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final at Anfield, which Liverpool would go on to win 4-0, erasing a 3-0 first-leg deficit. They went on to win the 2019 Champions League final against Tottenham.
