While Kylian Mbappé seems set to join Real Madrid this summer, PSG made a big presentation to announce the renewal of Warren Zaïre-Emery. The 18-year-old midfielder signed a new contract with PSG that will expire in 2029, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the verbal agreement was reached last October. Zaïre-Emery is considered a key player for the present and future projects of PSG that will include more players from France and more trust in the academy. PSG want to start a brand new way to build teams compared to the past when they signed star players like Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., and Mbappé.

This presentation of Zaïre-Emery's contract extension felt familiar to some PSG fans, and that's because it was. The treatment the club has given Emery is similar to when PSG agreed on a contract extension with Mbappé two years ago. In the summer of 2022, PSG signed many players like Messi, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and more. While PSG presented the players to the fans at the Parc des Princes, they also announced the contract extension of Mbappé, which expires this summer. The shirt read 2025, but it was an option if the player wanted to activate it. However, many reports suggest that Mbappé has said no; hence, he will leave this summer and most likely join Real Madrid.

Zaïre-Emery broke into the PSG first team last season, where he made 31 appearances in all competitions. He scored two goals for the first team of PSG last season. This season, Emery has made 38 appearances in all competitions for PSG, scoring three goals and six assists. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is $64.1 million. His last goal for PSG was in December in the Champions League group stage against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park.

PSG two points away to be crowned Ligue 1 champions

PSG had the opportunity to win Ligue 1 today against Le Havre, but the game finished 3-3 at the Parc des Princes. Zaïre-Emery grabbed an assist while Mbappé did not start the match. Mbappé came on in the second half, but Bradley Barcola, Hakimi, and Goncaclo Ramos scored for PSG. PSG will be league champions if AS Monaco drops points against Lyon tomorrow. PSG's next Ligue 1 game will be against Toulouse at home, and a win guarantees them the Ligue 1 title.
