NWSL 2022 schedule: the key dates to follow the tournament

The match schedules of this league have not yet been organized, but what is known are the key dates to follow the tournament. The best part? The kick-off date is already known. 

The first stop of the tournament will be the concentration camps of the league's teams for a 6-week preseason that will begin on February 1 in preparation for the third Challenge Cup, which serves as the kick-off of the tournament. 

This 2022 tournament will kick off on Saturday, March 19, and conclude on Saturday, May 7. 

Following this competition, the league will take a break before resuming with the 2022 regular season, which, for the first time since 2014, will feature an old-school format in which each team will play once at home and once away. 

This time around, the top six teams will qualify for the NWSL postseason and the two-second seeds, including the NWSL Shield winner for best regular-season record, will receive a bye in the first round and reach the semifinals. 

In total, we will continue to see five playoff games (two in the first and second rounds and one final), including the NWSL Championship game on the weekend of October 28.
