Torero Stadium

Although it will be on a provisional basis, the new NWSL club announced that it will temporarily host its home games at Torero Stadium, but the construction of a new facility has not been ruled out in the future.

Torero Stadium, first built in 1961, is the home of the University of San Diego football and soccer programs. The stadium, which underwent two phases of renovation, is perfect for an exciting athletic atmosphere inside its cozy confines.

These recent renovations were completed to host the WUSA San Diego Spirit, with over $3.5 million dollars spent to enlarge the seating areas and add spectator comforts. Torero’s stadium capacity is now 6,000 for Pioneer Football League action, as well as West Coast Conference Soccer play.

Alex Morgan teammates

The 32-year-old USWNT star will be playing alongside other eight players that already had been hired to play under Case Stone manager and San Diego Wave FC team. Abby Dahlkemper, Makenzy Doniak, Angharad James, Katie Johnson, Tegan McGrady, Kailen Sheridan, Jodie Taylor, and Kelsey Turnbow will be the new teammates of Alex Morgan.

The team will be completed next Thursday, December 14, in the NWSL Draft, where the club will be able to choose different unprotected players from the league teams.

San Diego Wave FC Management

The expansion club owned by Ron Burkle and operated by former U.S. women’s national coach Jill Ellis is believed to be the first in professional sports largely (although not exclusively) run by women, from Ellis to Chief Revenue Officer Vanessa Shay to marketing director Ali Williams to head coach Casey Stoney.
