
Lindsey Horan continues shining and will now continue her career in Europe, after arriving on a one-year loan with Olympique Lyon, but extends her contract with the Portland Thorns until 2025.

Through a statement, the Thorns announced Horan's departure to Lyon who will be until 2023 after having a standout 2021 NWSL season that earned him a spot on the NWSL Second Team Best XI.
The Colorado native played with her new team's archrival, PSG, from 2012 to 2016. She then returned to the United States to play with the Oregon team, with whom she played six tournaments and where she won an NWSL Championship, 2 NWSL Shields, and an NWSL Challenge Cup. In 2018, she was the MVP of the American League. She will now join her national teammate, Catarina Macario, who already has one season with the French club.
"Firstly, I want to thank the Portland organization for supporting me in following a few of my career aspirations, this would not be possible without the club and for that, I am forever grateful! I wish the team and my teammates nothing but the best this season!" Horan said on Twitter.
Horan, 27, finished the 2021 campaign with two goals and tied for the team lead with three assists in 14 games. In 88 career appearances (88 starts) for Thorns FC, Horan has recorded 25 goals and nine assists. In addition, she was selected as the 2021 USWNT Player of the Year.
Olympique is currently in first place in the domestic league with 36 points, only three points ahead of PSG. Undoubtedly, an already powerful team will become even stronger with the arrival of Horan.
