The final of Champions League could have been the last game that Sadio Mané played wearing Liverpool colors, as he only has one year left on his contract before becoming a free agent and is the last opportunity for The Reds to earn back something in return for his departure.
Mané already said that he’ll announce his decision in the days following the final, and after the 1-0 victory of Real Madrid, the Senegalese winger said that he wishes Liverpool the best, hinting that he’s ready to move on to the next stage of his career.
Reports from The Bild inform that Bayern Munich is the favorite to sign the Senegal international for the 2022-23 Season, although Real Madrid is also interested in signing him, an option that looks rather difficult after Liverpool’s second defeat in Champions League against Los Blancos.
But Jürgen Klopp has known for a while that he needs to strengthen the squad and lower the age average of the team in the next few transfer windows, which is why he doesn’t see with bad eyes letting Sané go, as the right-winger is already 30 years old.
Bayern Munich is willing to pay $86 million, Mané’s current market value, money that The Reds will use to acquire their next right-winger, which reports suggest that is going to be Hirving “Chucky” Lozano, player that has been followed by Klopp in the past few months.
Even if Lozano’s intention is to stay at Napoli at least until after the World Cup, the Azzurri are willing to let him go if a good offer arrives, and if Liverpool are willing to pay the $38 million that Napoli is asking for him, “Chucky” will be wearing Liverpool colors next season, a decision that could boost his career prior Qatar, as he’ll play against the best teams of Europe week after week.
Sadio Mané, "I wish Liverpool all the best"; which team will he join?
