Busquets intervened and was inquired about the rumors surrounding his time at Barcelona is over and his possible move to the MLS. Sergio, upset about these statements, made it clear that his desire is to stay at Barcelona and contribute to the team's objectives until the end of the season.

Busquets told the press that they need to stop making up these rumors and said that the only thing that's ending at the end of the year is his contract, but that doesn't mean he will not renew as his desire is to remain in Barcelona for as long as possible.

The reasons why Busquets will stay

Xavi Hernandez has made clear that Busquets is fundamental for the club and he'll like to have him for as long as possible. His position in the field is not one that can easily be replaced, in fact he does not have a natural replacement at Barcelona, which is why his departure would force Xavi to move the whole team. He's also the team's captain, and thus his departure would signify a moral blow to the team. In addition to that, Barça would have to sign someone and they have a short budget to do so.
