Liverpool Legend admits to struggle playing against Sergio Busquets at Barca

A legendary Liverpool player has recently talked about one of these players in a bright light and mentioned that he struggled to play against him.

The Liverpool legend who struggled to play against one of the best Spanish midfielders is Steven Gerrard. Gerrard is a legendary midfielder who has completed all types of duties. He was great defensively and scored many goals for Liverpool during his career. The English midfielder is often referred to as being the greatest Liverpool player of all time. Regardless of his legendary status in Liverpool and in football, he admits that he struggled to play against Sergio Busquets.

Gerrard said it was difficult to press Busquets, who played as a defensive midfielder with FC Barcelona for many years. Gerrard said, "Having played against him, in the end, you stop pressing him because it’s just so frustrating. You can’t get near him, you can’t get the ball off him, you can’t get close. If you come out of your position to press him, he pops it around you - and you can’t do it for 90 minutes because you’re just using useless energy up. He’s an absolute nightmare to play against. He didn’t break a sweat. It almost looks like he’s in second gear.”

Sergio Busquets stats so far with Inter Miami

Busquets has started in five out of the last six Inter Miami games in all competitions. Busquets also has two assists in the last three games. Busquets is currently 35 years old and left FC Barcelona last summer with a La Liga trophy along with Jordi Alba, who also joined Inter Miami.
