Busquets' replacement? FC Barcelona interested in Premier League midfielder

FC Barcelona has been struggling to find the right replacement for Sergio Busquets since the midfielder left last summer. The Spanish midfielder has been at the club throughout most of his career, and the team has struggled without him. Barcelona brought Oriol Romeu, but it hasn't worked out. Xavi has recently been trying to play Andreas Christensen in the last couple of games, and it has worked. While the club can't afford to pay a big fee for some defensive midfielders on the transfer market, the club is interested in a Premier League midfielder who is a natural defensive midfielder, unlike Christensen, who is a center-back. Barcelona has options to get the deal done but the Premier League club is asking for a huge transfer fee.

Sport reports that Barcelona is interested in Amadou Onana. Barcelona has been working for the arrival of a natural pivot, a position considered the most essential to fill. Onana stands out, but Everton values him very highly.

Amadou Onana’s environment already knows that Barcelona has him in very good consideration. Hence, Barça is one of his priorities if he leaves Everton. He is excited about the possibility of joining Barça and will wait for Barça as much as he can. Then, if Barça doesn’t have room to maneuver, he will consider other options. Everton value Onana at $65 million which other interested clubs like Arsenal can easily pay. In case they get relegated he could leave for around $43 million. These amounts are demanding for Barça, and they could look to include a player in the deal to make the price cheaper, although Everton’s priority is to get cash.

Everton is interested in FC Barcelona players

Sports reports that Everton could be interested in players like Lenglet, Dest, and Ansu Fati. Lenglet can be an option if Everton sells Branthwaite, although it is up to him whether he is willing to join. Dest is arising interest from many clubs. Ansu Fati, in principle, has to look for a new loan.
