The MLS will soon bring in another high-level player from Europe to the league to compete against Lionel Messi's Inter Miami. Marco Reus is rumored to play in the MLS after his plays in the Champions League final with Borussia Dortmund against Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium. Reus is valued at around $8 million, but if he joins the MLS, he will arrive as a free agent since his contract with Dortmund expires this summer, and he will leave the club after more than 11 years at the club. Fabrizio Romano reported that the BVB player is considering a move to the MLS this summer, as Samir Nasri revealed on Canal+ that Reus told him about a potential MLS move as talks already took place.
Although many fans hoped that the German legend could potentially link up with Messi at Inter Miami, other reports suggest that he will be an opposition player for the Argentine star. According to the Athletic, Reus is in talks over a deal with MLS club St. Louis City. The club made its debut in the MLS last year and so far this season, St. Louis City sits 9th in the Western Conference with 13 points after 10 games played.
Reus shocked the Dortmund fans and the football community when he announced that he would leave the German club at the end of the season, which is weeks away. Reus made a total of 424 appearances for Borussia Dortmund in all competitions, scoring a total of 168 goals and providing 128 assists. With BVB, Reus has won the DFB Pokal trophy and two German Super Cups. Now, Reus will play another Champions League final with Dortmund in 2013.
Reus' final game with Borussia Dortmund will be the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium against Real Madrid. Reus will look to win it this time as he lost the Champions League final in 2013 against Bayern Munich, which was also at Wembley Stadium. Reus celebrated with the fans after Dortmund defeated PSG 1-0 in Paris and won 2-0 on aggregate to make the UCL final.
