According to the Spanish media, Mundo Deportivo, RB Leipzig player Dani Olmo is very close to becoming a new FC Barcelona player for next season. The portal in question assures that there was a meeting between both clubs to know their respective positions regarding the signing and it seems that the German club has no intention of lowering the starting price of the Spaniard, which is 60 million euros, the price stipulated in his termination clause.

The meeting was attended by Deco, Barça's sporting director, together with the player's agents, Juanma López and Andy Bara, as well as the father of the Spanish international, Miquel Olmo, and according to the aforementioned media "was positive and generated very good harmony". It should be remembered that Dani Olmo trained as a professional at FC Barcelona although he never made his debut with the first team, as in 2014 he was signed by Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia and later by RB Leipzig in 2020, when they paid 29 million euros for him.

Everything seems to indicate that Dani Olmo will be FC Barcelona's star signing for next season and their desire to acquire him is such that they even intend to finalize the operation before the Euro as they fear that Olmo's value could increase in that international showcase. Currently his market value, according to Transfermarkt, is 50 million euros, although it has been made clear that he will not leave his current club for less than 60 million.

However, the financial situation of the Catalan club is not the most optimal to face a signing like this because according to El Periódico de España, "Barcelona's economic situation remains delicate and highly concentrated on financial fair play or debt, currently valued at €1,172 million." However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barça hopes that thanks to the good relations that Dani Olmo and his agents have with the German club, solutions can be found in the form of payment.
