Several MLS teams are in talks with El Shaarawy but he wants a salary way to high in the league, similar that the one he has in China.

The Major League Soccer is the new favorite destination for a lot of stars that do not fit at Europe but still have a lot to play. David Villa, Wayne Rooney, Thierry Henry, and now Stephan El Shaarawy could end up playing in the United States. There is only one problem and it’s the salary.

The best paid player in the League right now is Gonzalo Higuain and he earns 8 million dollars per season. Right now, the Italian winger's contract in China is about 13 million dollars per season, but if he arrives to the league, he wants even more than that. And it could reach the same amount of money than Kevin Durant.

It would be crazy to pay that salary for a soccer player in the USA according to the number that the NBA is paying right now. There is not MLS team that can afford it and this could be an obstacle to the player. The truth is that he wants to get out of China in a more competitive league, so he needs to get down his expectations.

What is going to happen? Probably some teams will make an offer to Stephan, but he will not answer them until there is no other choice. It would be really weird if an MLS team offers him more than 10 million, and the pressure for the player would be enormous if he arrives.
