Tigres faced Cruz Azul this Saturday at the start of the Liga MX with a lot of problems in a specific position.

Tigres and Cruz Azul held nothing back in Matchday 1 of the Apertura 2022 during their match at the Universitario Stadium. Miguel Herrera's team was looking to get off to the best possible start, however, they did not come away with a positive result and the low level in various positions of "El Piojo's" scheme was evident.

The match got off to a difficult start for the Monterrey side. A goal by Rafael Baca at minute 16 gave "La Máquina" the lead at Tigres' stadium. The play showed the ease of arrival of the Cruz Azul attack and the lack of efficiency on the flanks of Club Tigres. Javier Aquino was not at his best in the match.

This play, in which Aquino lost an aerial duel against Uriel Antuna, could have determined Miguel Herrera's need to look for reinforcements for the right back position. Javier Aquino performs much better on the left and Jesús Angulo was very slow in many parts of the match and, when it came to defending, he was outplayed on numerous occasions.

In the transfer market, one of the big opportunities for several Mexican soccer teams was the departure of Alan Mozo from Pumas. According to "Kikín" Fonseca, the right-back interested the Tigres board of directors, but ended up joining Guadalajara. The player has not yet made his official debut with the club as he was not considered against Bravos de Juárez.
