Cristiano Ronaldo never tires of making it clear that he's one of the best players of all time. In his Euro 2021 debut for Portugal, the forward scored two goals in a 3-0 win against Hungary to set a new competitive and personal record.

At the Puskás Arena in Budapest, Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the great figures that Portugal had in the suffered victory against Hungary. It's that although the result marks 3-0 for the current champions of the competition, reality indicates that the match was much more even and was only resolved in their favor in the last minutes.

And it was there that the best Cristiano Ronaldo appeared. With his two goals, he reached 11 goals in the history of the Euro to surpass Michel Platini (9) and become the most scored in the history of the competition. As if this were not enough, he was only three goals away from equaling Iranian Ali Daei (109) as the top scorer at the National Team level.

Ronaldo completed a performance that will remain on the books since he was also the first player to play and score in five different editions of the Euro: In 2004 he scored two goals, in 2008 only one, in 2012 he signed three more and finally in 2016 scored in three.

But that's not all, since with the victory, Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to obtain 12 victories in the history of the tournament. He left behind Cesc Fábregas and Andrés Iniesta, who with Spain in the 2008, 2012 and 2016 editions reached 11 wins.

Another record that Cristiano Ronaldo equaled is that of scoring at least one double in a Euro match. It caught up with Gerd Müller (1972), Rudi Völler (1984 and 1988), Michel Platini (1984), Wayne Rooney (2004) and Antoine Griezmann (2016).

Should Portugal reach the final of the tournament, it will join a long list of players who played two Euro finals. The last to do so were Xabi Alonso, Iker Casillas, Cesc Fábregas, Andrés Iniesta, Sergio Ramos, David Silva, Fernando Torres and Xavi, with Spain, in the 2008 and 2012 editions.

As if all the statistical data weren't enough, he is also the historic scorer in the Champions League, the top scorer in the history of Real Madrid, the second top scorer in La Liga and has five Ballons d'Or.
