The rumors were already a few days ago. But now the news is official: the United States team called Efraín Álvarez and Julián Araujo for the next matches that the team will play against El Salvador and this way Mexico loses two players who could be important in the future and all because of Martino.

Gregg Berhalter, United States coach, called 22 players for the game that the team will play on December 9 against El Salvador. The important thing about this is that all 22 players are playing in the MLS, except Dos Santos (Benfica, Portugal). A league that is improving its level a lot in recent years.

Vines, Mckenzie, Bassett, Akinola, Aaronson, Dike are some of the players who will play with the team in December. Among these players are Álvarez and Araujo, two names that will not finally play in Mexico because of Martino. The Argentinian coach never called them and, for this reason, they decided to play for the United States.

Some days ago, Martino had said that "Araujo is doing things very well” and that “he expressed his wish that he be part of the Mexican National Team”. Martino added that he “decided to work out with his family which way to go". Araujo has previously stated that choosing which national team to represent was going to be a "difficult decision."
