See the secret clause in Brendan Rodgers contract that gives Manchester United advantage

Two weeks ago, he was only one of the options but today he is the priority. Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is top of Manchester United's list of managers who could replace under-fire manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær if he is sacked.

Antonio Conte was formerly top of the list with many Italian outlets reporting he already had a secret agreement to take over from Ole Gunnar Solskjær at Manchester United. After United beat Tottenham, Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked and Conte took over, taking himself off United's list.

United's full attention is now on Rodgers who has a secret clause in his Leicester City contract that allows him to leave the club when a club playing in the UEFA Champions League comes knocking. That clause may have played to Manchester United's advantage here.

Rodgers is a former manager of Liverpool and Celtic. He took over at Leicester City in 2019 and won the FA Cup and Community Shield last season, beating Chelsea and Manchester City consecutively.
