After a poor run to the start of the season despite spending big during the summer, falling by five goals to nil at home to Liverpool, losing 2-0 to Manchester City, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reign at Old Trafford was brought to an end following a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Watford.
Michael Carrick took over as interim manager pending the time a permanent manager will arrive. Among the top candidates for the job is former Tottenham Hotspur manager and PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino. He has been linked with a move to the Red side of Manchester.
Comparing the two both have been woeful in their managerial careers when it comes to winning trophies. Trophies wise Ole Gunnar Solskjaer outperformed Pochettino as he has five trophies whereas Pochettino has just two trophies even after years in Tottenham.
The Argentine is tipped to take over at Old Trafford should he part ways with PSG. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked for failure to win trophies and poor performance, the same reason Pochettino was sacked for while at Tottenham.
