Luciano Spalletti was announced as the new coach of Napoli, where Mexican Hirving Lozano plays, after the departure of his predecessor, Gennaro Gattuso, due to his results in the Italian Serie A (First Division) and being out of the next edition of the UEFA Champions League.
The president of the Neapolitan club, Aurelio De Laurentiis, celebrated in a statement the hiring of Spalletti as the team's new coach as of July 1. "Welcome Luciano, together we will do a great job," applauded the sports manager.
The arrival of Spalletti to the Partenopeo club comes after the departure of Gattuso, former coach since December 2019 and with whom this season the team was in fifth position in the table and out of the Champions League. Gattuso for the part of him has just signed as a Fiorentina coach.
Hirving Lozano will start from scratch with his new strategist but starts with a good advantage, the Italian bases his training on extremes with conditions like those of the Mexican footballer.
In his last two experiences in Serie A, one with Roma and the other with Inter Milan, the strategist varied between two formations (4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3) but with two fundamental points. The first was a line of four on defense and the second a line of three on offense with two wingers glued to the wing, Chucky's best performing position.
It should be noted that Hirving Lozano will have to beat Matteo Politano. The Italian winger already has a previous experience with Luciano Spalletti at Inter Milan from two seasons ago.
