The German coach Joachim Löw explained his decision to resign after this year's European Championship. He believes that it is the result of a process of reflection in which, he assured, came to the conclusion that he did not see himself in office for the future and that it was convenient for his successor to have time.

In 2024, the Euro Cup will be played in Germany, something that can give impetus to German football, and he thinks it convenient to have a coach who has had time to work with the team. "Fifteen years as a coach are many, especially in these times when everything changes so quickly in football. I am very grateful for the trust and support that I have had since 2006. With the DFB and with the people who have accompanied", explain. His statements were offered to the media in his country. "In difficult situations we were always there for each other. I am proud of the successes we have had and also the defeats that have allowed me to learn new things", Löw added.

According to Joachim Löw, already last year and independent of the defeat conceded against Spain 6-0 in the League of Nations, he had begun to reflect. At that time he planned to take stock in March. "I have done it and I have come to the conclusion that after the summer and the European Championship it will be time to hand over the baton to another coach," he assured.

Löw defended the renewal process that began in the national team after Russia 2018. "I believe that this young generation may have its zenith in 2024 when there will be a tournament in Germany. That, as happened in 2006, can lead to an explosion. In 2024 I will not see myself in this position and if a change of coach had to be made, this was the right moment for me", concluded.
