The draw for an unprecedented FIFA World Cup will be held on Friday, when teams will discover their destination for the first winter edition of soccer's biggest event, to be held in Qatar next December.

The draw for the group stage of the Qatar 2022 World Cup will take place on Friday, April 1, starting at 12:00 Eastern Time in the United States. The venue for the draw will be at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center in Doha, Qatar. Follow the live coverage here on Futbolero US.

How will the pots be?

The 28 teams that have qualified are ranked in order of their FIFA world ranking, according to the latest published list, which will be officially confirmed on Thursday, March 31.

The top seven countries will join Qatar in Group 1, the next eight in Group 2, the next eight in Group 3, and the five lowest-ranked countries in Group 4.

Group 4 will be completed with the playoffs deciding the remaining three finalists in June.

Teams from the same pot cannot play each other on the group stage.
