The new edition of the Premier League kicks off, and duel will continue, Manchester City vs Liverpool.

Undoubtedly, the two great contenders for the final title are Manchester City and Liverpool. The now everlasting war between Pep and Klopp will write a new chapter in the annals of Premier League history.

In Manchester, everyone is hoping that the arrival of Norwegian Erling Haaland will provide the number of goals needed to retain the title and —once and for all— go all the way in the Champions League.

Chelsea beat Barcelona and Liverpool for this young English star

Liverpool, for their part, have followed a similar strategy. Far from reinforcing positions that looked like they could be improved, such as right-sided center back Matip, or inside back Henderson, they have chosen to spend money on a striker with a Klopp profile: Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan joins an enviable roster of attackers, with Salah, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota as top players.

What remains to be seen is which signing will have more impact in the Premier League, Haaland or Nuñez. Can the Uruguayan help Liverpool break Guardiola's reign in the Premier League?

London clubs in high hopes

The trio of London clubs are aiming to put pressure on the two league giants. Chelsea, after a much-improved transfer window, will be keen to rediscover the form that made them European champions under Tuchel.

Tottenham, for their part, will want to continue progressing with the signings of Richarlison and Kulusevski, with whom Conte is building a squad that should, at least, repeat Champions League places. That will also be Arsenal's ambition, with a renewed project in which Gabriel Jesus stands out as a star addition. Arteta has the mission of returning the club to the European elite.
