What does Marcelo Bielsa think of the offer that Chivas made him?

Ricardo Cadena has given El Rebaño Sagrado a 180 degree change after he was named interim coach of Chivas, as he remains unbeaten since taking over the team and managed to finish sixth in the standings, giving them the chance of receiving Repechaje in Estadio Akron.

While Chivas are focused on the knockout stage, as they are facing Pumas UNAM on Sunday night to earn a ticket to Liguilla and the quarterfinals, both Amaury Vergara and Ricardo Peláez are in negotiations with Marcelo Bielsa to become their new coach.

But after the news broke and international press started echoing it, a new Liga MX club has joined Chivas on the pursue to sign “El Loco” Bielsa, who has been without a club since late February, when he parted ways with Premier League side Leeds United.

Which club is after Bielsa?

If the Argentine coach arrives in Liga MX, this will be his second time coaching in Mexican soccer, as he already coached Atlas and Club América during the 90s, where he developed one of the best El Tri rosters in recent years.

According to reports from TUDN, “El Loco” Bielsa not only received an offer from Chivas, but also from one of his former teams, as Atlas are looking to have a backup plan if Diego Cocca leaves at the end of Clausura 2022, as he hasn’t renewed with Los Zorros.

Cocca is being followed closely by Cruz Azul, who are trying to part ways with Juan Reynoso, and if Cocca ends up leaving, Atlas won’t have to look any further, as they can use the economic power of Grupo Orlegi to meet the economic desires of Bielsa.

How much can Bielsa earn in Atlas?

According to reports from English media outlets, Marcelo Bielsa earned $8 million per season when he was coaching Leeds United, although given that he wants to return to Mexico, he’s willing to lower said salary to half.
