Next year's World Cup may miss some amazing superstars as highly rated countries failed to qualify in the group stage qualifiers and will have to face the danger of play-off.

Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022 has almost come to an end, 10 European teams have earned qualifications after the group matches, we may be missing some super stars in Qatar next year due to the inability of their country to qualify directly and subjecting their fate to a dangerous play-off.

Top of the list is Cristiano Ronaldo, should the former Real Madrid star's controversial goal against Serbia stood in the first leg clash they would have secured their spot in Qatar but L Serbia finished the work in the second leg beating Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal 2-1 to secure their World Cup spot. An outcome that spells doom for Cristiano Ronaldo as he may miss the opportunity to feature in his last World Cup for Portugal.

Ballon d'Or nominee and Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski may not make it to Qatar next year as his country Poland have failed to secure enough points to book their spot. Another Super star that may be absent in Qatar is Euro 2020 winner, Champions League and Ballon d'Or nominee Jorginho, Italy has fallen off of form just few months after winning the Euro 2020 and their destiny will be determined by a fearful play-off to make it to Qatar.

Erling Haaland, Memphis Depay, Zlatan Ibrahimovic are some of the faces that will likely not make it to Qatar 2022 come next year. Their country has failed to secure enough points to book a precious spot in the FIFA World Cup and taking the dangerous route of play-off is not a guarantee. Their hope now hangs and they will need a little bit of luck to make it.
