The Catalan head coach could not want the Argentinian legend on Manchester, despite what rumors say.

Lionel Messi is near to end his contract with FC Barcelona and rumors point out that Manchester City could be his next club. The Argentinian legend tried to leave during the past transfer window, but ex-president Josep María Bartomeu denied him that possibility. Now that he is gone, the scenario has change.

The contract of Messi ends on June 2021 and that gives him the chance to negotiate with any club since January. Manchester City has always showed his interest on the no. 10 and the fact that Pep Guardiola is the head coach seemed to be the perfect excuse for him to move to the Premier League side.

But when asked about Messi’s situation, Guardiola surprisingly said that he prefers that he retires on Barcelona. The relationship between the Catalan trainer and the attacker didn’t end very well after their time at Barcelona. Despite what rumors say, there are certain jealousy and fights between them.

If Messi finally decides that Manchester City is not his best choice, the team with more possibilities to sign him will be Paris Saint-Germain. The reason is that the French side is one of the few ones that can pay such amount of money in a contract as to maintain Messi happy.
