The contract of the Dutch manager with Barça ends soon, and this could be his replacement.

The era of Ronald Koeman as the manager of FC Barcelona may reach an end soon, after not obtaining the best results wanted. The Dutch coach assumed in the position to replace Quique Setién, as the last petition of ex-president Josep María Bartomeu before his departure.

The contract of Koeman with Barça ends on June 2021 and, even though there are options of extending it for another year, the new president will be the one deciding. The trainer hasn’t obtained the best results so far and lost this Sunday the chance of gaining his first title, on the defeat in the Spanish Supercup final against Athletic Club.

Koeman, with 57 years old, has managed the team during 26 games, with a result of 16 victories, four ties and six defeats. Previously on his managerial career, he trained Dutch national team, Everton, Feyenoord, Southampton, Valencia CF, AZ Alkmaar, Benfica, Ajax and Vitesse.

If the new president decides Koeman won’t continue, then Barcelona will have to look for a replacement. As the financial situation of the club is not the best one, they are thinking on a legend from the club. The name that now appeared as one of the most possible ones is the one of Xavi, currently manager of Al-Sadd FC Qatari side.
