Either due to injury or because their country did not qualify, many stars will not play the Euro

Those who will watch it on television. Beyond the large number of figures that will be present in the most important tournament at the European national team level, some stars were left out of the lists of their respective countries and other names of weight didn't qualify.

Sweden is, perhaps, the team that loses the most in terms of absence, since Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be there. The Milan striker, who was absent from the call-ups until this year, when in March he returned to play for his country in the Qualifiers heading to Qatar. Everything seemed to indicate that the scorer was going to be in the Eurocup, however, a knee injury at the beginning of May left him out of the call, since his recovery would take almost two months.

If we mention the topic of injuries, the Sergio Ramos case is something similar. The Real Madrid defender did not have the best season in terms of his physique, since continuous muscular discomforts marginalized him from the fields and he reached the last stretch of the season with almost no football rhythm. For this reason, coach Luis Enrique decided to leave him out of the Spanish call-up and decided to rely on a list with an important generational change.

As for the Netherlands, he will finally not be able to count on Virgil Van Dijk. The defender, key in Liverpool to get the Premier in the 19/20 season, suffered a torn cruciate ligament in October last year, and since then, he has not played again. Despite the fact that he is already recovered, the idea of reaching such an important tournament without having played a single minute of the season was very risky.

On the other hand, there were some players who will not be present at the Euro as their teams failed to get into the tournament. The best known case is that of Erling Haaland. The forward had a magnificent season in the Bundesliga and was the Champions League scorer, but it was not enough for Norway to qualify for the continental tournament.

Another absent name will also be that of Jan Oblak. The League champion goalkeeper had a great year and always excels at Atlético Madrid but, unfortunately, Slovenia does not have such a powerful national team and could not qualify.

The ideal team that misses the Euro

Goalkeeper: Jan Oblak (Slovenia)

Defenders: Virgil van Dijk (Netherlands), Joe Gomez (England), Sergio Ramos (Spain)

Midfielders: Miralem Pjanic (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Ivan Rakitic (Croatia), Josip Ilicic (Slovenia), Milinkovic Savic (Serbia)

Forwards: Ansu Fati (Spain), Erling Haaland (Norway), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweden)
