Since its launch in 2003, the mobile video game FIFA has always been released either in the last week of September or first week of October of the year ahead of its title. Only the 2021 edition has been delayed so far due to the unusual year of global pandemics that affected a lot of things in the world.
FIFA 22 is already available for those who pre-ordered the game between September 15 and September 27 when it became available. For those who did not buy via pre-order, it will be available from October 1, at a little extra cost and without some benefits that will be enjoyed by those who pre-ordered it.
Fast rising French footballer and Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé who covered FIFA 21 will continue as the cover star of FIFA 22. He has an overall rating of 91 on the game which puts him levelled with four other players, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Jr, Jan Oblak and Kevin De Bruyne. "Being on back-to-back FIFA covers is amazing. I have a very special relationship with the game and look forward to enjoying FIFA 22 alongside all of you." Mbappé said.
Six times Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi is the highest rated footballer on the new release with an overall rating of 93, closely followed by reigning FIFA Best Player Robert Lewandowski who has a rating of 92. Lionel Messi's longest rival Cristiano Ronaldo has an overall rating of 91.
