Di Maria is set to leave Benfica at the end of this season, and while rumors grew that he would go back to Argentina to play in Rosario Central in June, the move seems off. Argentine journalist Gaston Edul reports that Di Maria will not go back to Rosario Central for security reasons or to protect his family. Di Maria has played a total of 136 matches with Messi throughout his career, which includes the Argentina national team and PSG. They both have combined for 15 goals throughout their careers together. Di Maria and Messi only played one season together at PSG in the 2021/2022 season. Together in PSG, they won the Ligue 1 title.
