Manchester United has made agreements with Ralf Rangnick to take over as the interim coach till the end of 2021/2022 season. The announcement came a few days after United parted ways with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after a poor run to the season.

Who is Ralf Rangnick?

He is refer to as the father of German football philosophy, he is a German professional football manager, sports executive, and former player. He works as Head of Sports and Development at Russian club FC Lokomotiv Moscow.

One interesting thing about him is how he started his coaching career at a very young age of 25 after an unsuccessful football career. He has managed a host of clubs in the German Bundesliga, Schalke 04, Hannover, Stuttgart, RB Leipzig and others.

He is known for his Gegenpressing type of possessive football, whereby the team after losing possession try to win it back immediately instead of regrouping to defend. He is credited for influencing Thomas Tuchel, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralph Hasenhüttl, and Jürgen Klopp.
