San José Earthquakes have found agreement to extended the 23-year-old midfielder Jackson Yueill's contract Jackson Yueill. The arrangement sets the course for the franchise for years to come. Although no further details were given, the contract goes far beyond the World Cup 2023, that will be held in Qatar.

The Argentine coach, Matías Almeyda, was very happy to achieve the continuity of a National Team player, since he considers him a young man with great potential to succeed in the best leagues of Europe. Under Almeyda's tutelage, Yueill played 14 games this season.

With Magnus Eriksson's departure to Djugardens IF Sweden this summer, Yueill, who has already accumulated more than three seasons at the club, gained the confidence of coach Almeyda to exercise the captaincy vacated by his former teammate. So far, in this new role, he has scored a goal and an assist.

Due to his age, the Minnesota-born midfielder has great chances to join the US national team, who would have traveled to Tokyo this year for the Olympic Games, which due to the coronavirus pandemic had to be suspended and will be rescheduled for sometime in 2021.
