The Argentine Gerardo Martino, technical director of the Mexico National Team that's getting ready to play a friendly match against Wales, surprised at a press conference when talking about the possible merger between Liga MX and Major League Soccer (MLS) of the United States it would be interesting due to the importance of the clubs that make up both leagues.

When asked about the idea that the MLS, which already includes Canadian clubs and cooperates with Liga MX in several joint competitions, could eventually form a new trinational league, Tata acknowledged: "It would seem to be a Interesting idea, a much more competitive league could be built, I imagine it would be positive, it seems like a nice possibility".

The former coach of the Argentine National Team, explained: "In MLS there are important and strong teams, the same happens in Mexico, a very strong and attractive league could probably be created to bring in high-level foreign soccer players!.Last week, FIFA president Gianni Infantino said the merger would be viewed positively by the body and could become "the best league in the world".

On the other hand, the Mexican national team is in Europe where on Saturday they will visit Wales and on Tuesday they will face the Costa Rican national team in Austria in preparation for the Concacaf qualifiers for the World Cup and the Gold Cup. "I don't think there will be any a moment when we can say that we have reached a culminating moment, and I would not like to find the best moment now but in five or six months when the tie begins, for now we have to keep working and try to make the team evolve", Martino pointed out.
