When Lionel Messi decided to leave FC Barcelona, his choice of clubs was very limited. Even though for a brief time, many thought that the Argentine could reunite with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, Messi quickly revealed that he was already in talks with Paris Saint-Germain. PSG coach, Mauricio Pochettino, who is also an Argentine, is credited with being one of the core influences that made Lionel Messi choose to go to the Paris club.

Mauricio Pochettino could be sacked at PSG

Lionel Messi was expected to hit the ground running under the tutelage of Pochettino and in the company of long-time friend and partner, Neymar. But the 6-time Ballon d'Or winner has endured a slow start to life at the Parc des Princes. Just 1 goal in 6 matches for the Argentine with PSG, and suffering the first defeat against Rennes in the Ligue 1, Pochettino is a coach under pressure. If Pochettino is sacked, these are the Top 3 coaches who could replace him at PSG.

Zinedine Zidane

The Frenchman is highly respected in France and across all of Europe. Zinedine Zidane learnt the trade under Carlo Ancelotti as an assistant coach before taking the top job himself. Zidane led Real Madrid to 3 consecutive UEFA Champions League titles with the star power of Cristiano Ronaldo. Possessing the only player on the level of Cristiano, Lionel Messi, Zidane could be brought in to win the much-coveted UEFA Champions League title for PSG.

Joachim Low

The ex-Germany manager has been out of a job since he stepped down from his role as the coach of the German National Team. Low won the World Cup with Germany and won the FIFA Confederations Cup also. Though, having not being in a club role for so long, the German tactician knows all about winning. The low stakes of the Ligue 1 should allow Low win games easily while he could channel his knock-out World Cup experiences to winning a similar format competition in the UEFA Champions League.

Antonio Conte

Serial winner, Antonio Conte is available and at the beck and call for Paris Saint-Germain. The Italian manager declined the offer to manage Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid because he thought they were not ambitious enough. With Paris Saint-Germain, his hunger for winning would be matched by owners who would spare to cost to achieve victory. Having won League titles in England and in Italy (with Juventus & Inter Milan), Conte would be desperate to win the UEFA Champions League for the first time for himself and Paris Saint-Germain.
