After the dismissal of Miguel Herrera, the Board of Club America has several options in mind, but there are two that are gaining strength. With the intention of returning to the accustomed prestige, the directors headed by the sports president, Santiago Baños, have in mind two well-known names on a continental level and also Argentine.

The first is the well-known Antonio Mohamed who had a good step with Rayados de Monterrey winning 3 titles, but then a negative streak in the last tournament for which he agreed to terminate his contract and today he is free. The Argentine already had a step with the America club where he became league champion in 2014.

The second in mind is the multi-champion with River Plate, Marcelo Gallardo, who is one of the technical directors that Santiago Baños wants so much to return the team's prestige and thus make them one of the most powerful clubs on the continent. However, unlike Antonio Mohamed, Marcelo Gallardo is deeply rooted in River Plate not only because of a contract, but also because of the love he has for the club, which makes him a more than difficult goal to achieve for Santiago Baños, although it says inside the club that the owner Emilio Azcárraga would be willing to open his wallet and draw a good amount of money for the River Plate technician.

Other rumors that are handled are that of the former Cruz Azul Robert Dante Siboldi, who made Cruz Azul play very well in his management, in addition to having made Club Santos champion in a tournament in which they eliminated Club America in the semifinals. Another option is Alfredo Tena, who has under his command the Basic Forces of the team. Finally, the farthest option is that of the Colombian Juan Carlos Osorio, who is an old acquaintance of the Mexican soccer, loved and hated by many. Osorio already led Puebla in the Liga MX, a team that he made play very well for the low level of his squad.
