Thomas Tuchel took over the reins at Chelsea in January after club legend Frank Lampard was sacked after a poor run of results. The German took over a team in ninth position on the EPL table and finished in the top four and also the big one, he led the teams to UEFA Champions League victory.

The Champions League triumph earned him a new contract at the club until 2024 and also given a new signing with a new striker Romelu Lukaku who has added an extra attacking depth to the squad. Tuchel's assistant Zsolt Low has now revealed the difficulty of managing the European champions to glory this year.

"It’s important to keep Chelsea at that level and improve. The summer transfer window has been very good, we have been able to get players that we desperately needed and we can move forward with them. After the Champions League win, it is very difficult and challenging for our players to stay motivated, but we are constantly working on this." Low told Digi Sports.

Chelsea are currently top of the Premier League after eight games with just one loss to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. The loss was followed by a loss in the Champions League group stages to Juventus. The last time Chelsea won the Champions League, they were eliminated in the group stage by Juventus.
