FC Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman is living on borrowed time as the manager of the club, a time borrowed by the club being handicapped financially. Results have been poor for the club recently and are struggling really badly after the departure of their greatest player, Lionel Messi. The atmosphere at the club is enough to have Koeman sacked but the financial situation of the club is making it a little bit difficult. If Barcelona sack Koeman, he will be paid €12m and a new manager due to Barcelona's salary cap will not receive more than €4m per season. Here are the list of managers who could replace him if he's sacked.

How much will Barcelona pay Ronald Koeman if he is sacked

According to El País, the Culé team would have to pay the coach some 12 million euros to break his contract. According to ESport3 via Diario AS, there is a clause in Koeman’s contract which states Barcelona have to pay €6million to him if his contract is not extended beyond two years. According to the same report, the clause is a refund of sorts on the back of Koeman having to pay the Dutch football association (KNVB) out of his own money to activate his release ahead of taking over at Barca in August of last year.

Ronald Koeman's record at Barcelona

Ronald Koeman was appointed as the manager of FC Barcelona on August 19, 2020 after Quique Setien was sacked because of how Barcelona's season ended in a 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich. Koeman has so far led Barcelona to 62 games, he has won 38, drawn 11 and lost 13. He won the Copa Del Rey last season, a trophy he also won for Barcelona as a player in 1990.

What has Barcelona president said about Koeman?

Ronald Koeman will continue to be Barça manager. Barcelona president Joan Laporta has voiced support for the embattled manager and says he deserves respect in the difficult times. "He deserves trust. When the injured players return, we will have more of a margin. Koeman is a Cule and a reference point for Barcelona, I've spoken with him and I drew my conclusions. I really appreciate that he decided to coach the club at a time of maximum institutional and sporting difficulty. He could have had his moments of discouragement, but he has come to his senses and now that the injured are coming back he deserves that trust. We talked, it's not true that we have a cold relationship. It's a good and a sincere relationship. He's a good person and I think he thinks the same of me. We are all trying to make it better."
