Ronald Koeman took the FC Barcelona job amidst an institutional crisis. The bad times reflected in the squad’s morale. The players are not happy with the board, not even with Koeman’s appointment. So when the Dutch arrived to Spain, he found out he was going to have a difficult time to take control of the locker room.

Given there is a mix of world class players, good players and average players, some are going to be relegated in the coach’s consideration.  They will get less minutes than the rest, and the decisions taken by Koeman, based on the performances shown at matches and trainings, will not content everybody.

Miralem Pjanic, one of the latest signings, has submitted a complaint about he is not having the playtime he thinks to deserve. Pjanic also stated he does not know what is he doing wrong and does not understand how a player like him is in that situation. He claimed to be always ready and he should play a lot more.

Pjanic told Koeman he is not satisfied and does not accept the idea of not being a regular starter. This is also the feeling of some others players at the squad, with the midfielder leading the claim. It seems Koeman will have to choose between having the players happy or choosing the best possible team.
