The moment Zinedine Zidane is going through is not the best one in his managerial career. The French trainer had some impressive first years in Real Madrid, in which he won almost every title in which he competed. But things have changed now and the ex-talented midfielder, can't guide his team to obtain good results.

As a consequence, president Florentino Pérez is seriously thinking if Zidane should continue as the manager. After that, the names of many coaches exploded as them being the main candidates to occupy the position of Zidane if he leaves. Real Madrid stands second in LaLiga and will face Atalanta on Champions League Round of 16.

The names of the possible replacement of Zizou are the ones of some top experienced managers, as Joachim Low, Massimiliano Allegri, Arsene Wenger and so. The main candidate was Mauricio Pochettino, who finally accepted the proposal from Paris Saint-Germain and is working at the French side.

In a poll made by Mundo Deportivo Spanish newspaper, users chose Guti as the one who should be replacing Zidane. With almost 60% of the votes, he was chosen above Raúl González, Laurent Blanc, Julian Nagelsmann and others. Guti was a member of the Galacticos, a team in which he played aside David Beckham and spent 15 years as a player at the Spanish side.

The managerial career

Guti retired from professional soccer on November 2011, after a season he played for Besiktas Turkish side. Two years later, he started to work in the youth teams of Real Madrid, and he left in 2018, to be the second manager of Besiktas. Two years ago, he returned to Spain and managed a team for the first time, when he was the main coach of Almería until June 2020.
