Manchester United was whitewashed by rivals Liverpool in a lumpsided performance at the Theatre of Dreams yesterday. Liverpool took the driving seat with a 4-0 lead at half time before Mohamed Salah added the fifth of the game to complete his hat-trick in the 50th.

The loss leaves United eight points adrift of leaders Chelsea and have not won in four Premier League games. The Guardian is now reporting that the players held talks on whether the manager is fit enough to carry on the leadership mantle of the club.

No player they say is bigger than the club but certainly Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is managing a squad that has players who are bigger and have higher ego than him. Players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba, Raphaël Varane amongst others.

Manchester United board are also going through a series of meetings behind the scenes as they sit to discuss the future of the manager and the club at large. United have invested over £450m in signings including Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphaël Varane and Jadon Sancho this summer.
